Day 1: Arusha
You can use the first day(s) to relax after your flight, while there are also possibilities to visit the city. Pass by Cultural Heritage art gallery, the National Museum, visit the local market, enjoy Tanzanian food, ...
Day 2: Arusha - Mto Wa Mbu
You will leave to Mto Wa Mbu after breakfast or after lunch, according to the program. Also here are different activities possible and many interesting things to see: biking to a banana farm (you will be surprised how many different species of bananas exist!), a local market, follow a cooking class, or just enjoy and relax.
There are many possibilities for accommodation, in all different price ranges.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
This will be a full day of game drives! Prepare yourself to see a lot of wildlife, like elephants, lions, baboons and much more in Lake Manyara National Park.
You will have lunch inside the park. In the late afternoon you will head back to Mto Wa Mbu or to Karatu for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
Up to the great Crater! Ngorongoro Crater is an area protected by UNESCO, so defenitely worth a visit! It is magnificent, not only the wildlife but also the views.
In the evening you will continue to Serengeti National Park to camp or your lodge.
Day 5 & 6: Serengeti National Park
Finally time to enter the great plains of Serengeti National Park. It will be one or multiple days of game drives. According to your plan and budget, we can add more days and even pass to the southern or northern part of the park. Depending on the time of the year you can witness the great migration.
There are different options for accommodation: camping or staying in a lodge.
Day 7: Bunda
On this day you will exit Serengeti NP and head to Bunda, a small town on the way to Lake Victoria. There is a lot to see on the way, so you won't get bored.
In Bunda you will spend the night in a local guest house.
Day 8: Ukerewe Island
You will take a ferry to Ukerewe Island, the largest island in Lake Victoria. On the island there are different places to visit, like an old palace of
Day 9: Ukara Island
With a ferry you will go to Ukara Island to visit the famous Dancing Stone. There are almost no cars on the island, so most of the transportation is done on motorcycles. It is only a day trip, since there is not really accommodation on this island. In the late afternoon you will take the ferry back to Ukerewe Island.
Day 10 & 11: Mwanza
From Ukere you will take a ferry to Mwanza. In Mwanza we can have a tour in the city, visit a fish market and even have a boat trip on the famous Lake Victoria!
Day 12 & 13: Kigoma
Kigoma is a small town located right at Lake Tanganyika. The perfect place to relax after the long drive from Mwanza.
Day 14 & 15: Gombe Stream National Park
In the morning you take a boat to Gombe NP over Lake Tanganyika. It takes around 3 hours. On arrival you will have lunch. After lunch a guide will take you through the forests, looking for the chimpanzees.
In the evening you'll have dinner next to the lake and overnight in a guesthouse.
The next morning you'll have a second hike in the forest looking for chimpanzees.
After lunch you'll head back to Kigoma by boat.
Day 16: Tabora - Arusha
Today you'll drive back to Arusha. We advise to have a stopover in Tabora for one night, to break the long drive in two days. On the way you'll see beautiful sceneries.
